trainingMind over matter  takes a unique and distinctive approach to training and developing youth both mentally and physically. Its concept was derived from my experience as a player and coach. After living on both sides of the spectrum i gained insight as to what i needed as a player physically as well as what i needed from a coach and as a coach mentally.

We all come from different places in our lives. Some are born into nurturing environments and grow up believing and trusting that the world is their oyster and all things are possible. They are fortunate to have the mental edge. Where confidence and self esteem take root and grow. However they may lack in skill and need that portion developed into its full potential. There are others who are born with skill. Yet their environments are not conducive to breeding positive thoughts and their environments are less than nurturing. I personally come from the latter example and because of that it inspired me to create mind over matter sports.
The name mind over matter was not chosen because it sounded catchy or that its a cliche. It was picked by design. It was what i had to practice daily to achieve success. My body was built for basketball. My heart and soul were born for this game. But my mind was lacking in the belief that i was capable. I thought every time i made a mistake it was because i wasn’t good enough or capable. So i began to turn inward. I came up with tools to tell my mind that ft was just as skilled as my body. Though old habits die hard. And still to this day frequently creep in. I do know that when you truly exercise your mind as well as your body mind over matter takes its place in the forefront and obstacles that appeared insurmountable are conquered, self worth is preserved, and success is achieved.
There are many levels of success and they are all individual. Mind over matter sports was designed and created to bring out each uniquely created athlete the ability to reach their potential. Not to measure their abilities against another, but to set physical and mental goals learn how to achieve then, and learn to handle and conquer the setbacks along the way.
